What's the Difference?
Both Faux Wood and Basswood blinds give you the classic look of horizontal wood blinds, but they’re built from very different materials — and that difference matters depending on where in your home they’re going.
Faux Wood Blinds
Faux Wood Blinds are made from a PVC composite designed to look like real wood, without wood’s sensitivity to moisture. We offer them in Smooth finishes (White, Pearl, Oyster) and Embossed finishes (Birch, Maple, Snow, Pearl, Oyster) for a texture closer to genuine wood grain.
- Best for: bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, and any space with regular humidity or moisture exposure
- Material: PVC composite
Basswood Blinds
Basswood Blinds are genuine wood, offering a warmth and natural grain variation that composite materials can’t fully replicate. They’re available in a wide range of finishes — 5 painted options and multiple stained options — so you can match nearly any interior color palette.
- Best for: living rooms, bedrooms, offices, and other climate-controlled interior spaces where you want an authentic wood look
- Material: Solid basswood
Which Should You Choose?
If the room sees regular humidity or moisture — a bathroom, a kitchen near a sink, a laundry room — Faux Wood is the more practical choice, since it won’t warp or crack the way real wood can over time. If you want the genuine look and feel of natural wood and the room stays dry and climate-controlled, Basswood is hard to beat.
