Rechargeable (DC) motors run on a battery you recharge periodically with the included charger cord with no wiring required. Plug-In/Hardwire (AC) and Transformer/Hardwire (DC) motors connect to continuous power, so there’s no battery to recharge. Note that motor size may vary depending on fabric weight and overall product width.

Which shades can be motorized?

Roller Shades, Solar Glide Shades, Woven Wood “Designer Natural” Shades, Soft Roman Shades, and 3D Shades are all available with motorization. Ask us about other product lines during your consultation, since availability can depend on the specific size and fabric.

Do I need Wi-Fi to use motorized shades?

No. Every motorized shade comes with a handheld remote that works out of the box. Wi-Fi, through our Smart Home Transmitter or Bond Bridge Pro, is only needed if you want app or smart home control.

Can I control more than one shade with a single remote?

Yes. Our 1-15 Channel Handheld Remote can operate up to 15 motorized shades from one handheld remote.

Are motorized shades battery-powered or hardwired?

Both options are available. Our rechargeable (DC) motors run on a battery you recharge periodically; our plug-in and hardwire motors connect to continuous power with no battery involved.

Is motorization a good option for child safety?

Yes. Because motorized shades have no cords or loops to operate, they eliminate a common home safety hazard for young children and pets.
